Review of Twitter Marketing Ebook

twitter-marketing-ebook1I was excited when I heard that Marko Saric, from How To Make My Blog, was releasing an ebook about twitter marketing. I’d been reading his blog since last year and really admired how he was using twitter to develop and strengthen his brand.

His new ebook, Twitter Marketing, aims to show twitter users how they can effectively use twitter to connect with their audiences.

Marko covers a broad range of twitter topics targeted towards novice and intermediate audiences. They are:

  • Starting your Twitter experience
  • Personalizing your Twitter account
  • Why is branding important?
  • Starting to tweet
  • Monitoring the talk on Twitter
  • Increasing the number of your followers
  • Following versus Followers
  • Self-promotion on Twitter
  • Going viral on Twitter
  • Twitter and your site

It is brief at 55 pages but is comprehensive without being overwhelming.

Marko quickly covers the basics and structures the information so that you build up your presence, before starting to market it. Each chapter concludes with actionable steps that make it easier to put the information into practice.

Who Is it for?

I’ll be honest – a lot of the information will be too basic, especially for those who have already established their brand and learned the rules through trial and error. However there are many new twitter users who haven’t had the luxury of being able to make their mistakes without public scrutiny

Even so, I believe that many people could learn a lot from Twitter Marketing. Marko covers topics that I’m still grappling with, such as:

  • Neglecting my site in favor of twitter
  • Getting and tracking retweets
  • Cleaning up your twitter stream.

This ebook is for the user who doesn’t quite understand the unspoken rules of twitter. It is for those who need advice on twitter etiquette, terminology and how to promote without spamming others.

This is first ebook I would recommend to my friends who ask for advice on how to use twitter. It simplifies a lot of the concepts that took me months to fully understand. It’s relevant to people who are trying to market themselves, or any product, through twitter.

Would I recommend it?

Twitter has become mainstream. Users are getting increasingly wary of overly promotional tweets and being targeted as a statistic, rather than a person.  Users have a lot more to lose – both with money and potential relationships.

I’ve been using twitter for a year and have had many top bloggers commend my use of twitter in developing relationships. I’ve received over $1000 in free products and gotten many work and promotional opportunities – even though I don’t currently have a blog. I got so much out of this ebook and believe it is well worth the $20 price tag.

If you want further information, I provide consult quality responses in the comments. However if you want the kick arse information that I don’t provide elsewhere, look at these:

They’re kinda awesome.
